Indian economy saves USD 1.5 billion as border check posts are abolished

After the pan-India GST roll out on 1 July, 22 out of 30 states abolished state border check posts leading to direct annual economic savings of about USD 1.5 billion. Check post removals relieve truckers of daily multi-hour long queues required to verify consignments and paperwork.
