Amazon pumps in USD 63 million in India’s ATS unit ahead of festive season

Amazon plans to infuse another $62.7 million in its Amazon Transportation Service, ATS after opening its logistics arm for Indian rivals increasing its total authorised share capital to 8 billion. Amazon has so far invested a total of 2.1 billion in its Indian unit as the Indian logistics industry is expected to grow up to $307 billion by 2020. According to a recent statement by the company “Amazon wants to build ATS into an independent logistic service which competes against Flipkart’s Ekart and other independent logistics services like Blue Dart and FedEx.” Read more
